At low tide,
the waves weakly caress the shoreline
like lovesick people trying to
get a grasp on reality.
When the tide is high,
the waves have no control
like people who have
just discovered the unrequited love
of their life was getting married.
All emotions on the edge(s),
the heart of the ocean
is as calm as a fetus
which has not yet
discovered the joys
of moving it's limbs about.
